  • It is really weird how things in life work.  It seems that good things are always followed by bad things no matter what.  I had the time of my life in Brazil and the day I get back we find out my Nanny has breast cancer.  Then she goes through surgery and they remove all the cancer and tell her if she has to have any treatments at all they won't be severe, this is great.  Then the day after she gets to go home from the hospital a good friend of our family and longtime church member has a heart attack and dies right out of the blue, no warning signs or anything.  And while its a horrible situation I know he is in heaven and he is way better off now than any of us, how do you explain that to his 3 year old grandson who worshipped him?  And why do things like this have to happen now?  My parents are on a medical mission in Equador and Saturday night I had to call and completely ruin it for them and they aren't here to tell me it will be ok and to let me cry on their shoulders, my brother is around but he just doesn't understand, he is too busy trying to represent the family and do whatever is needed that I would just be a bother.  But I understand, he's just trying to do his part.  I know we aren't supposed to question God and I know everything happens for a reason and God's timing is perfect, I just wish we could have a little explanation of what is going on.  But I guess that would defeat the purpose of FAITH right?

Well, I am home from Brazil.  It took us FOREVER to get home, all three of our return flights were delayed and we even missed our big flight from Sao Paulo to Dallas causing us to have to stay in Sao Paulo for an extra day.  I definitely miss all of my new Brazilian friends.  The people we met on this trip are the most wonderful people in the world.  Everyone was so welcoming and inviting.  We were able to establish wonderfully close bonds with these people even though we don't even speak the same language.  I can't believe I have to wait a whole entire year to go back.  Luckily there is email and instant messenger so we will all be able to keep in touch.  I missed all of my friends while I was gone, so please tell me what has been going on here in lovely Conway, or wherever you are for the summer.

WELL, ITS JUST 3 DAYS UNTIL WE LEAVE FOR BRAZIL!  I'M VERY EXCITED, BUT THERE IS SOOOOO MUCH THAT I STILL NEED TO DO TO GET READY FOR THIS TRIP. I KNOW THAT WE WILL HAVE A BLAST AND THAT WE WILL WORK HARD TO PROCLAIM GOD'S NAME IN BRAZIL.  ITS ONLY 5 DAYS UTNIL MY BIRTHDAY!  I'LL BE 21 AND I FIND IT VERY FUNNY HOW THE CLOSER IT GETS STO MY BIRTHDAY THE MORE MY PARENTS ACT LIKE I'LL BE TURNING 12 INSTEAD OF 21.  ANYWAY, I HOPE YOU'RE ALL HAVING WONDERFUL SUMMER VACATIONS SO FAR.  WHAT ARE YOU ALL DOING?
